Michael Drabing, a 21-year-old house painter, was convicted of the 1976 grisly murders of Lloyd and Phyllis Schneider, 44 and 45, and their 17-year-old daughter, Terri, in a Manson Family inspired copycat murder spree. Some reports have claimed Drabing committed the slayings as a response to the movie “Helter Skelter” about the Charles Manson murders, which aired on television in 1976. Cheryl Schneider and Jeff Richardson were also present at the home during the chaos of the murders, but escaped through a window. Drabing was convicted of the murders and is serving three 75- to 100-year terms.
