Jeremy Sly admitted to killing six people 20 years ago. Sly accepted a plea in exchange for life sentences in each case. Sly admitted he broke into the Port Charlotte home of Rita and Paul Stasny and shot the couple to death.
"The person who stands before you today is not the same person who destroyed so many lives so long ago. I say that I'm sorry but that will never be enough," Sly said Wednesday. Sly also admitted to going to the Villegas home in North Port a short time later. There he killed Luis Villegas Jr, 13 year old Revonda Peay, 11 year old Billy Ray Hall Jr and 9 year old Richard Peay. Eight year old Juantis Peay was shot multiple times, but survived. Donna Villegas escaped from the home and called 911.
Sly was already serving a life sentence for first degree murder at Charlotte Correctional Institution for an unrelated case in Collier County.
